About me

I'm Razvan, a developer, solution architect, and lifelong computer nerd who’s been building software since the late ’90s and podcasting since 2011. I speak and write about IoT, cloud, AI, and cybersecurity — and once even spent three hours teaching 3rd graders about AI. That was fun 🤓.
After many years in tech — beginning with writing software for both fun and client projects, then spending four years repairing computers and building hundreds of PC configurations at a small local shop, followed by hands-on work at a regional ISP where I configured routers, switches, and servers while designing networks for individuals, institutions, and businesses — I ultimately shifted my focus fully to software development. I launched Burzcast. It started as a podcast and became something more: a boutique software company focused on cloud, AI, and custom-built tools for people who want things done right.
At Burzcast, we help teams modernize with custom software, cloud architecture, and industrial IoT solutions. We’re small by design, which means we’re selective, intentional, and focused on long-term partnerships — not volume.
Our recent work includes AI-powered assistants, workflow automation engines, and hybrid systems that combine human logic with machine intelligence — built ethically, transparently, and always with purpose.
We also make our own software products. For Mac users, BoltBurz is our free menu‑bar utility that keeps your Mac awake during critical workflows—no sleep, no surprises. Fbloc is our minimalist clipboard manager for macOS, built for developers, writers, and power users who want fast access to their copy history and code snippets. And for Windows users, Advanced Timer is a simple automation tool that can schedule tasks, launch apps, and more.
Built in Swift and leveraging native macOS power‑management APIs, BoltBurz quietly sits in your menu bar to prevent system sleep or display dimming. It collects no telemetry or user data, runs smoothly on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, and is available for free on the Mac App Store.
Like everything we build, our products are lightweight, useful, and thoughtfully designed. They're available directly from us — no middlemen, no bloat, just clean code and good support.
Burzcast is based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania (a surprisingly good place to build great software), and we work remotely with clients across Europe and beyond.
This blog isn’t strictly business — it's also where I share the fun side of life: my love for Panic’s Playdate console, gaming sessions, good movies, Kindle-powered reading marathons, experimental cooking for my family, and adventures with my daughter, wife, and our energetic Yorkshire Terrier.
